London Fashion Week Registration

I receive a lot of emails requesting information pertaining to purchasing tickets to London Fashion Week, so I wanted to take a moment to note that London Fashion Week is a trade only event. In other words, only if you are a member of the press, a buyer or otherwise a member of the fashion industry, you cannot directly purchase tickets or register to attend the catwalk shows or the Exhibition.

Generally speaking, registering at London Fashion Week — as a member of the press, a buyer or an industry member — means gaining access to the Exhibition. Tickets to catwalk shows are handled directly by the designers themselves.

Twenty8Twelve to Show at London Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2009

Twenty8Twelve by Savannah and Sienna MillerSisters Savannah and Sienna Miller are putting on their debut fashion show for their Twenty8Twelve label at London Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2009 in February. Their runway show is currently scheduled for Sunday, February 22, 2009 at 21h00 (9:00 pm).

Savannah Miller attended London’s prestigious Central Saint Martin’s College of Art & Design, where she received a BA in Fashion Design with Knitwear, and later worked under such designers as Alexander McQueen, whereas Sienna studied acting in New York and has appeared in a number of feature films.

According to the sisters, “Twenty8Twelve is now in its fifth season and we just felt it was ready to be taken to the next level. British Fashion Week is celebrating 25 years in 2009 and we are thrilled to be a part of this.”

Having launched to much fanfare for autumn/winter 2007-8, the label - which comprises all the clothes the designers would love to wear and just couldn’t find anywhere else - already sells via two standalone London stores as well as through top retailers such as Selfridges, Matches, Harvey Nichols, Lane Crawford and Neiman Marcus. Putting a collection on the catwalk, however, is sure to catapult it into the global fashion spotlight like never before.

London Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2009 Schedule

London Fashion Week for Fall/Winter 2009 Collections will be held in London, England from February 20 to February 24, 2009.

Taking up his traditional opening spot for the week is Paul Costelloe, who will get the fashionable proceedings underway on Friday 20, followed by red carpet queen Jenny Packham and the fresh and innovative offerings of the Central Saint Martins later in the day.

Graeme Black and Charles Anastase, who wowed us with collections inspired by the seascapes of Scotland’s Western Isles and Degas ballerinas respectively, will lead the way on Saturday with Peter Jensen, Nathan Jenden and Vivienne Westwood Red Label among the headliners of the evening.

Following their beautifully bright spring/summer 2009 collections, expect a scrum at Richard Nicoll and Christopher Kane who, up on Sunday, are followed by a new addition to the schedule - a presentation from Sienna and Savannah Miller’s Twenty8Twelve fashion label.

Shows from Luella, Roksanda Ilincic, Giles and British Fashion Award winner (for Swarovski’s Emerging Talent Award) Louise Goldin will make for a busy Monday, while House of Holland, Peter Pilotto and Bora Aksu will bring the week to a close.

Elleuk.com is reporting that fashion designer Luella Bartley will show her next autumn/winter collection at London Fashion Week in February. While usually showing her label in New York, she has decided to stay in London due to the success of her spring/summer collection run at London’s September 2008 Fashion Week.

Originally from London, Luella Bartley had decided to showcase once in London because it coincided with and helped celebrate her London boutique opening on Brook Street.

London Fashion Week September 2007

LONDON FASHION WEEK has teamed up with the American trade show, Designers & Agents, to bring exciting new US designers to London in September. “This is a new leaf for London Fashion Week, and we really want to reinforce our platform as the place for young and cool designers,” said Benedict Bro of London Fashion Week. “London has always been the hotbed for new talent. Paris, of course, is important, but it’s so big that it’s difficult for a new designer to be visible, whereas London is small enough to be a really good place for a new designer to be seen by someone who has a true influence.”
